Just a reminder that unlocked vehicles with valuable items left inside can be targeted by criminals as in this case involving two Sussex County men: A series of thefts from vehicles that occurred in Seaford in early June has led to the arrest of 41-year-old Roger Wilson of Laurel and 32-year-old Jaquan Adkins of Millsboro. On June 7th, troopers learned that someone had stolen money, credit cards, and other items from a homeowner’s unlocked car overnight on Baker Mill Road. Another homeowner on the same street recorded someone entering his truck and stealing his wallet. Someone else on Spicer Court reported that his wallet and jewelry were stolen from his unlocked car overnight. Afterwards, surveillance video showed Adkins and Wilson working together to buy nearly 3,200 worth of equipment at Lowe’s in Seaford using one of the stolen credit cards. Wilson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on his own recognizance. Adkins is at Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,200 secured bond on a probation violation capias.
