DE & Wicomico Spellers Compete Saturday in Regional Bees
Delaware‘s super spellers will gather at St. Mark’s High School this morning. Spellers from 48 public, private and homeschool champions in grades 4 through 8 will look to advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC. Registration Saturday is at 8:45 – the spelling begins at 9:30am. The top 3 contestants will be awarded scholarships from the host school.
Wicomico County school spelling bee champions selected through competition at the school level will now compete in the 2022 Maryland Eastern Shore Regional Spelling Bee at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 10am – and is open to the public. The winner of the regional bee will be the area鈥檚 representative at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee – with new host LaVar Burton – takes place June 1st and 2nd.
