DE State Senate Unveils Senate Committees for 152nd General Assembly
The Delaware State Senate has unveiled the 17 Senate committees for the 152nd General Assembly – and who is assigned to each committee. There are several key changes in the make up of these committees, which Senate President Pro-Tempore Dave Sokola says show how intertwined issues are with one another – for example the Transportation Committee is now merged into the new Environment, Energy & Transportation Committee.

The previously distinct Transportation Committee has been merged into the new Environment, Energy & Transportation Committee, while the Banking, Business & Insurance Committee will expand its scope to include matters related to technology and the Housing Committee will expand its scope to include land use.
“These changes reflect how intertwined these issues are with one another,” Sokola said. “As we continue to make record investments in our roads and bridges, we need to be ever mindful of how our transportation network impacts Delaware’s fragile ecosystems and open spaces. Likewise, technology is now a central component of any commercial operation and land use is inextricably linked with housing.”
Following an historic election in which voters expanded Democrats’ supermajority in the Delaware Senate, most Senate committees have also been adjusted to reflect a similar majority.
Committees and committee assignments will become official when the General Assembly reconvenes on January 10, 2023.
