Dagsboro Woman Dead After NCCo Crash

A Dagsboro woman was killed last week when her car went of Route 1 near New Discovery Road near Townsend and sank in a retention pond. Delaware State Police identify the woman as 35 year old Jamie Powell and say she was the only one on the vehicle. Police say she lost control on the snow-covered road and slid down the snow-covered embankment and into the pond. Her car was completely submerged and rescue divers pulled Powell from the vehicle – she was pronounced dead at Christiana Hospital.
