Update: Victim Dies after Struck by Truck on O.C. Drawbridge
UPDATED – 7/14/22 – 5pm – A Bishopville man who was struck on the Harry Kelly Bridge in Ocean City around 8 Wednesday night has died from his injuries. Maryland State Police say 33 year old Daniel Hicken was crossing the bridge on foot when he was struck by a truck driven by 19 year old Anthony Capriotti of Levittown, Pennsylvania. Hicken was flown to Christiana Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation and consultation with the Worcester County State’s Attorney.

A crash on the Route 50 Harry Kelley Bridge has left a 33-year-old Berlin man hospitalized.
According to Maryland State Police, troopers at the Berlin Barrack responded to the westbound crash at about 8:05 p.m. Wednesday.
An investigation indicates that a pedestrian was trying to cross the roadway when he was hit by a truck driven by a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man. The man who was struck was flown by Delaware State Police aviation to Christiana Hospital for treatment.
The driver was not hurt. State Police said charges are pending.
The Harry Kelley Bridge was closed for about four hours due to the crash and investigation.
Ocean City Police, Fire and EMS responded, as did the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office and the State Highway Administration.

A crash on the Ocean City U.S. Route 50 drawbridge has closed the bridge to traffic. It was reported on the westbound side around 7:50 p.m.
A preliminary report suggests that three autos and a pedestrian were involved. Delaware State Police helicopter Trooper 2 is flying one critically injured patient to a trauma center.
The investigation is ongoing.
