UPDATED: Crash West of Gumboro Leaves 1 Dead & 1 Injured
UPDATED – 11/13/23 – Delaware State Police have identified 35 year-old Alexander Bechtel of Seaford as the man who died in a fatal crash west of Gumboro Saturday night.

ORIGINAL STORY – 11/12/23 – One man is dead after a single vehicle crash around 11:30 Saturday night west of Gumboro. Delaware State Police say that for unknown reasons the driver of a Cadillac was traveling westbound on Whitesville Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control and the vehicle began to rotate as it went off the roadway – striking multiple trees. A passenger in the front seat – a 31 year old woman from Seaford – was ejected. She was flown to an area trauma center and admitted with life-threatening injuries. The driver – a 35 year old man from Seaford – was pronounced dead at the scene.
