UPDATED: Crash North of Georgetown Leaves 1 Dead & 4 Injured

UPDATED – 08/29/23 — Delaware State Police have identified 18-year-old Gricelda Ramirez-Chilel of Ellendale as the woman who died in a two-car crash that happened on Sunday morning north of Georgetown.

A crash north of Georgetown just after 11:30 Sunday morning has left one dead and several people injured. Delaware State Police say a Mazda was southbound on Route 113 south of West Robbins Road when for unknown reasons the driver swerved to the left and drove through the center median into the northbound lanes and collided with Nissan. In the Mazda, an 18 year old female front seat passenger from Ellendale with serious injuries was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The driver, a 39 year old woman from Ellendale was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries and a 4 year old boy from Ellendale in the left backseat was later flown to another hospital for treatment. The driver and passenger in the Nissan – both from Maine – were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
