Crash Near Ellendale Leaves Driver in Critical Condition

A crash early Saturday morning has left a man in critical condition. Delaware State Police continue to investigate but say a 57 year old Ellendale man was southbound on South Old State Road near Route 113 when his car went off the side of the road, rotated and crossed the road striking a tree with the front bumper. The driver got out of his car – and collapsed a short distance away. He was taken to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital – and transferred to Christiana Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police say alcohol does appear to be a factor.
