Crash Near Delmar Injures 2 – 1 Critical

A Laurel man is in critical condition after a crash Sunday evening on Old Stage Road near Delmar.  Delaware State Police say a Yukon driven by 35 year old Juan Gomez-Gomez of Laurel was speeding northbound and passing other vehicles when a rear tire blew out causing him to lose control.  The vehicle overturned multiple times – ejecting Gomez-Gomez and a 30 year old passenger from Laurel.  Gomez-Gomez was treated for minor injuries at PRMC – the passenger was admitted to PRMC in critical condition.  Police have warrants on file charging Gomez-Gomez with 1^st degree vehicular assault, DUI and other offenses.  Arrest is pending extradition from Maryland where he’s being held as an out of state fugitive.
