Crash Leads to 3rd Offense DUI Charge for Laurel Man

A Laurel man has been charged after a crash in the area of Hitch Pond and Shiloh Church Roads Friday night.  Delaware State Police contacted the driver, 61 year old William Smith and smelled alcohol.  A DUI investigation showed Smith had two previous DUI convictions and that he took a turn at too high a speed and lost control of his pickup, which ended up in a ditch.  Smith is charged with his 3^rd offense DUI and other offenses.  He was released on an unsecured bond.
