Coons, Carper Urge Expedited H-2B Visas

Senators Chris Coons and Tom Carper of Delaware are part of a bipartisan group of Senators urging the Biden administration to speed up the availability of 22,000 additional H-2B visas.

According to the lawmakers, they have been hearing from Delaware businesses about the need for H-2B visas as they try to hire staff for seasonal positions.

The senators said given the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to many businesses last summer, it’s vital that they have the labor they need this year to meet what’s expected to be growing demand, and to “protect the jobs of American workers who fill year-round positions at these businesses.”
