A convicted sex abuser of a minor has received the maximum sentence possible of 25 years in prison.
According to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office, Jeremy Houck was convicted in November following a two-day trial, and was sentenced last month.

Prosecutors said the offenses occurred between 2011 and 2014, when the victim was under age 11.
The victim came forward in 2019.

Houck will also be required to register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life and will be subject to lifetime sexual offender supervision by the Sexual Offender Management Team.

“It is nearly impossible to fully appreciate the harm inflicted by sexual predators upon victims. That harm impacts entire communities in many forms. Judge Dean’s sentence ensures that potential victims and the community at large will be protected from Houck for many years. The effort and sacrifice of the investigators and prosecutor are a credit to our community,” Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes said.
