August 7, 2019
A 20 year old woman was pulled from the Assawoman Bay by US Coast Guard officials after she was reported missing from a vessel early this morning. She was one of 11 other passengers on a 22-foot Carolina Skiff that was heading north in the bay from the Route 90 bridge area. A Coast Guard boat crew found the woman after searching for about 35 minutes – she was not injured. She was taken to her friends who were at the vessel owner’s home along with local police. Coast Guard officials cited the operator of the skiff for boating under the influence.
