Clayton Man Arrested for Reckless Endangerment in Magnolia

Delaware State Police have arrested a Clayton man after he fired two shots in the midst of a verbal argument.

Troopers say around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, they responded to South Draper Circle in Magnolia for reported shots fired. They made contact with a female resident who advised that several subjects arrived in a vehicle at her residence with a verbal argument ensuing. The investigation determined her boyfriend, identified as 23-year-old Andrew Wharff was present during the incident, then obtained a firearm and fired two shots in the direction of the 24-year-old victim’s vehicle as he fled. One of the shots struck Wharff’s own truck which was parked. No injuries were reported.

Troopers seized the firearm. Wharff was taken into custody without incident and charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and First Degree Reckless Endangerment. He was arraigned and released on 21,000 dollars unsecured bond.
