Chincoteague Pony Beach Walk This Morning

The 99^th annual Chincoteague pony swim will take place on Wednesday in Chincoteague. Over the weekend the south and north herds were rounded up and early this morning were taken on the annual beach walk on Assateague Island. Tomorrow the ponies will get vet checks before they swim the channel on Wednesday to Chincoteague. The Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company says the swim will take place during slack tide – between noon and 1pm. The pony auction begins at 8am Thursday at the Carnival Grounds in Chincoteague.
