Carper says “we must act” following attacks in New York and Texas

Delaware’s Senior U.S. Senator Tom Carper speaking out after two parishioners were killed in a shooting at a church in Texas, and multiple people were injured at a Hanukkah party in NY.

Carper tweeting that he believes in the power of prayer, but believes we must act.

Sen. Carper went on to say that he plans to continue to work with his colleagues to ensure programs that counter domestic terrorism are fully funded.

“I am deeply troubled by yet another anti-Semitic attack on yet another Jewish community that has left 5 innocent people — who were peacefully celebrating — in critical condition,” Sen. Carper tweeted following the attack.
