Cambridge Home Destroyed by Fire
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says a home in Dorchester County has been destroyed by a fire that took place on Wednesday evening.
Officials say the blaze broke out around 7:44 p.m. at the two-story, wood framed home located in the 5000 block of Horns Point Road in Cambridge. The Cambridge Rescue Fire Company responded to the two alarm blaze, with over 75 firefighters taking part in the firefighting efforts. The fire was contained within 45 minutes.
The home was vacant and it is not believed anyone was home at the time of the fire. A neighbor discovered the fire and alerted authorities. Over 500,000 dollars worth of property damage has been reported.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
