Bridgeville Man Charged with 7th Offense DUI

Lewes Police were called to Irish Eyes Restaurant for a disorderly and intoxicated patron on February 1st just before 4pm. The patron was gone when police arrived, but was seen driving a black pickup truck.
Police searched the area and spotted the truck westbound on Savannah Road and conducted a traffic stop.
Police contacted the driver, 57 year old George Hamilton of Bridgeville and observed a high level of intoxication. He was given standard field sobriety tests and refused a breath test and was arrested for DUI.
A computer check showed Hamilton has 6 previous DUI arrests. A blood search warrant was approved by the court and Hamilton’s blood was taken for testing.
Hamilton was charged with a 7th offense DUI and taken to SCI for an intoxication hold and later released on bond.
