Big Fish Caught off OC Could be International World Record!
January 8, 2020/
A Baltimore County man fishing off Ocean City in the Atlantic Ocean canyons on December 28th caught a big-scale pomfret – weighing in at 22.1 pounds. Maryland DNR officials say this is the first official state fishing record for big-scale pomfret. Both the species and weight have been verified and it’s possible that 33 year old Jeff Rosenklide’s catch could potentially qualify for an all-tackle world record by the International Game Fish Association – the current world record is 20.6 pounds – which has stood since 2004.
