UPDATED: Bicyclist Critically Injured on Coastal Highway at Rehoboth Mall
UPDATED – 05/19/24 – 11am – Emergency personnel were on the scene of a collision between a Porsche and a 38 year old man on a bicycle on Coastal Highway in the area of the Popeyes Saturday night just before 10. Delaware State Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that the bicycle rider was traveling westbound – trying to cross the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway and traveled into the path of the Porsche, driven by a 48 year old Rehoboth Beach man. The bicycle rider ended up on the hood of the car before he landed on the roadway. Police say the bicycle was not equipped with lights or reflective material and the rider was not in a crosswalk. The bicycle rider was flown to a trauma hospital in critical condition.

ORIGINAL STORY – 05/18/24 – The driver of a Porsche Macan S collided with a man riding a bicycle on southbound Coastal Highway in front of Popeyes outside of Rehoboth just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
He was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene.
