Beach reconstruction continues in Bethany Beach – south of the bandstand

Bethany beach reconstruction continues and town officials say that’s making it difficult to place the mats on the crossovers.  The completed project calls for a hard, walkable surface to be constructed for each beach crossover – and mats will be placed as needed when the new surface becomes problematic through the rest of the summer.  Work on the crossovers and beach fencing is expected to begin next week.  However, the Town has installed mats at both Fourth and Fifth Streets.  Construction on the handicap ramps at Ocean View and Wellington Parkway will not begin till later in the summer.
