A Berlin man has been convicting of running his own marijuana operation. 31-year-old John Harrison Jr. was charged with conspiring to manufacture a dangerous substance after the Worcester County State’s Attorney said officials executed a search and seizure warrant at a property on Deer Park Road this week.

Worcester County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered 77 mature marijuana plants and 22 more in the early stages of cultivation. They also say they found equipment used in the growing operation such as fans, air conditioning units, air purifiers, hoses, vents and plumbing.

Harrison has been sentenced to 18 months in prison but that was entirely suspended. Instead he will undergo 2 years of supervised probation. As a condition of his probation, Harris agree to forfeit the seized equipment, valued at nearly 100,000 dollars.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office says they plan to donate a majority of the equipment to Worcester Technical High School, for use in their agricultural and farming programs.
