UPDATED: Barricade Situation in Salisbury Ends with Safe Resolution
UPDATED – 6pm – Wicomico County Sheriff’s office was called to a home in Cedar Crossing around 4 Tuesday morning. Deputies found a female suffering from a knife wound to the forehead and supplied medical care until she was taken to Tidal Health Hospital for treatment. Deputies with help from several other agencies began negotiating with the suspect who barricaded himself in the home.
Hours of negotiations took place and deputies eventually forced entry and deployed a drone where they located the suspect in a bedroom. Teargas was deployed and the SERT team and Salisbury Police SWAT team entered the residence and arrested the suspect. Sheriff Mike Lewis says the suspect was suffering from what appear to be self-inflicted knife wounds and was taken to Tidal Health.
A barricade situation that began around 6 Tuesday morning has ended with a safe resolution. Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says that deputies were called to the 100 block of Cedar Crossing early this morning. Officials say that after several hours of negotiating and tactics the situation was resolved safely ā with help from the Maryland State Police, Salisbury Fire Department and Salisbury University Police.
