Dover Man Charged in Road Rage Stabbing
A road rage incident in Dover Thursday morning left one man injured. Delaware State Police with help from Dover Police have arrested 59 year old John Scott of Dover on charges of assault. Police say Scott was southbound on Route 1 north of Dover Air Force Base and driving in an aggressive manner – and motioned for a Lexus SUV driven by the victim to pull over. The victim complied and the two began arguing on the shoulder of Route 1 when Scott pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso. Scott left the scene – the victim drove himself to the hospital.
Scott’s car was located on South Little Creek Road and troopers saw blood on the driver-side window and injuries to Scott’s hands and he was arrested. A search warrant executed on the car turned up the bloody knife.
Scott is charged with 1st degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon and is being held at SCI in default of a $120,000 cash bond.
