UPDATED: Troopers Arrest Fourth Suspect in Sussex County Drug and Weapons Investigation


UPDATED 5/22/2019: Delaware State Police have apprehended 49-year-old Reginald Sample of Seaford in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.

On Tuesday around 2 p.m. officials took Sample into custody in Bear, New Castle County. A traffic stop of a red Mercedes Benz was conducted, in which time Sample was taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle uncovered 100 grams on cocaine.

Sample was charged with 5 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, 5 counts of Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Receiving a Stolen Firearm, Second Degree Conspiracy and Following a Vehicle too Closely. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on 176,000 dollars secured bond on his original charges and 40,100 dollars cash only bond on his additional charges.


ORIGINAL 2/26/2019: Delaware State Police say a multi-agency drug investigation has led to the arrest of 3 people, with one person remaining at-large.

Troopers say with the aide of the Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force, Caroline County Narcotics Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, Sussex Drug Unit, Governor’s Task Force and the Seaford Police Department, a three month long trafficking investigation led to the arrests of 33-year-old James Frazier of Cambridge, MD, 37-year-old Trivette Jackson of Federalsburg, Maryland and 25-year-old Donisha Holland of Seaford.

Search warrants were executed at four Sussex County addresses: the 20300 block of Wesley Church Road in Seaford, the 22000 block of Hensley Road in Seaford, the 900 block of Woodland Mills in Seaford and the 37400 block of Burton Village in Rehoboth Beach. As a result of the searches, authorities seized 453.5 grams of Methamphetamine, 261.23 grams of cocaine, 68.78 grams of Heroin, 19,549.82 grams of marijuana and over 78,000 dollars in suspected drug proceeds. Additionally, authorities uncovered a .40 caliber semi-automatic Smith and Wesson pistol (reported stolen out of Kentucky), a Ruger .357 revolver, another .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol and a .40 caliber Beretta semi-automatic pistol.

Frazier and Jackson were apprehended without incident together, during a traffic stop in Dover. Frazier was charged with 6 counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled dangerous substance in a Tier 4 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, 5 counts of possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, 3 counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, receiving a stolen firearm, 3 counts of conspiracy in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown on 809,000 dollars cash only bond. Jackson was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, conspiracy in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned and released on 21,000 dollars unsecured bond.

Donisha Holland was taken into custody without incident following a search warrant on Hensley Road in Seaford. Police say three children were present at the home. Holland was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, receiving a stolen firearm, conspiracy in the second degree and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Holland was arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on 50,500 dollars secured bond.

Troopers say they are currently working to locate and apprehend 49-year-old Reginald Sample of Seaford, who currently has active warrants for the following: four counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity, 4 counts of possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, 3 counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, receiving a stolen firearm and conspiracy in the 2nd degree.
