2-Year-Old Boy Struck, Killed While Standing In Roadway

Delaware State Police have identified the two-year-old child who tragically died in an accident on Slaughter Beach Road this week as Elridge Brundge of Dover.
The incident is still under investigation.

A two-year-old boy has died of injuries suffered when he was hit by a vehicle on Slaughter Beach Road near Lincoln.
According to Delaware State Police, a passing driver stopped to try to help the child who was standing in the roadway Wednesday night at about 8:05 p.m., but a driver coming in the opposite direction did not see him and struck the boy.
The boy passed away on the way to Nemours Children’s Hospital. The 72-year-old driver stopped at the scene and was not injured.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit at Troop 7 is still investigating the incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at 302-644-5020 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333.
Slaughter Beach Road in the area was closed for about three hours because of the collision and investigation.
