1 Dead In Kent Co. Trailer Home Fire

A fire east of Dover near Delaware Bay claimed one life Sunday.
According to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire broke out Sunday afternoon at a house trailer on Tenth Street near Pickering Beach Road. Members of the Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company were met by flames engulfing the structure.
A 61-year-old man died at the scene. A 67-year-old woman was being treated at Bayhealth Kent General for smoke inhalation.
She was reported to be in stable condition.
An investigation into the cause of the fire continues. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
The American Red Cross is helping four displaced residents. Two nearby campers did not sustain any damage from the fire.
