1 Dead In Hit-And-Run Crash On Route 50 In QAC

A fatal hit-and-run crash on Route 50 in Queen Anne’s County is under investigation by Maryland State Police.
The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on westbound Route 50 near Nesbit Road. Police saID 49-year-old Tobethla Norman of Baltimore tried to pass a box truck on the left shoulder but veered back into the roadway and struck the box truck. Her vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, struck several trees and landed on its side.
Norman died after being taken to a local hospital. The driver of the box truck did not stay at the scene.
Police also said Norman was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
