Wicomico County Airport Gets Federal Funding for Runway Repairs

The Salisbury-Ocean City: Wicomico Regional Airport is receiving a federal grant for much-needed repairs.

The Salisbury-Ocean City: Wicomico Regional Airport is receiving a federal grant for much-needed repairs.

Maryland U.S. Senator Ben Cardin was on hand to present a $5.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The funds will be used to repair one of two aging runways.

Cardin says federal investment in infrastructure of all kinds makes good fiscal sense and creates job, while keeping people on the move.

The construction will sustain 50 jobs and take 300 days to complete. The project is slated to start in early September.
