Two Wanted For Swindling Woman in Car Deal

Delaware State Police need help locating a man and a woman who they say scammed a woman out of money for a car Tuesday.

Police say 31-year-old Heather Turner contacted a 25-year-old woman about car Turner was interested in selling to the victim.  The victim knew the car was for sale and was interested in buying the car.

Turner and 29-year-old Ryan Neyhart picked up the woman from her home and drove her to the 18000-block of Redden Road in Georgetown where the car was located.  The woman gave the pair $1,500 for the car.

Neyhart went inside the home, then came out and told the woman that they need to get a tag and some title work done before they could give her the car.  Turner and Neyhart dropped off the victim at her home and told her someone will bring her the keys and title.  No one showed up.

Police also say the suspects were driving Neyhart’s father’s pickup truck during the transaction, although they were only allowed to use the truck to travel to court.  Turner and Neyhart have not returned and also have a 56-year-old man’s cell phone.

Police want Turner and Neyhart on charges of theft greater than $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.  Police think the two may be traveling to Virginia or Pennsylvania.
