Two-Vehicle Crash on Ferry Delays Departure Times

Delaware River and Bay Authorities say departure times for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry will be delayed by one hour this afternoon, following a two-vehicle crash on one of the vessels.

Delaware River and Bay Authorities say departure times for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry will be delayed by one hour this afternoon, following a two-vehicle crash on one of the vessels.

Authorities say the driver of the Ford Explorer was parking his vehicle when he accidentally hit the gas pedal and not the breaks. The Explorer slammed into another car with two Millsboro passengers inside, then pinning the car into the side of the vessel.

Three people were taken to a nearby New Jersey hospital. The vessel sustained minor cosmetic damage.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and urge passengers to check with departure times throughout the afternoon.
