Two Arrested, Three More Wanted in Dover Gang-Related Robbery

Dover Police are investigating a Monday night gang-related robbery.

Police say two teens were riding their bicycles in the Capital Green Housing Development when five local gang members approached them.  The five male suspects then started shouting gang related statements at them as well as throwing up possible gang signs.

One suspect threw a bicycle at a victim, another suspect brandished a gun to rob the victims.  One victim tried to escape, but was knocked to the ground by one of the suspects.  Then all five suspects punched and kicked that victim until he briefly lost consciousness.

The five then stole the victims’ bicycles and left the area.

Dover Police have arrested two suspects for the crime: 19-year-old Juwan Valentine and 15-year-old Jamal Jones.  Police are still looking for three other suspects: 21-year-old Duante Morrison, 17-year-old Jawon Watson, and 16-year-old Khareim Hanzer.  All have are facing two counts of 1st degree robbery, 2nd degree assault, illegal gang participation, and 2nd degree conspiracy.  Morrison is also facing charges of possessing a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and two counts of aggravated menacing.

Contact Dover Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 if you have information that can help police make an arrest.
