Trial Begins For Man Killing Girlfriend’s Father

A Kent County man is on trial, accused of killing his girlfriend’s father in 2013.

A Kent County man is on trial, accused of killing his girlfriend’s father in 2013.

The prosecution and Jerry Schweiger’s defense made their opening statements Tuesday.

Schweiger denies killing Tony Mozick, but his girlfriend, Jennifer Barnes, told police on video he killed her father and dumped the body into the Leipsic River.

Barnes took a plea deal and is expected to testify against Schweiger.
