Police Investigate Lewes Break-In, Shooting

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting in Lewes this morning.

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting in Lewes this morning.

Investigators say a 67-year-old homeowner in the 17000 block of King Philip Way woke up and discovered two suspects rummaging through his car in the driveway at around 4:00 a.m.

One of the suspects pulled out a handgun, ordered the victim to the ground and fired one shot.

The bullet did not hit him and was uninjured. The suspects fled on foot with undisclosed items from the car.

One of the suspects is described as an 18 to 25 year-old man, about 5’8″, tall and thin build. Both were wearing hooded sweatshirts. No description on the second suspect.
