New Castle County Judge Reassigned to Sussex County

A New Castle County Superior Court judge has been reassigned to Georgetown.

The News Journal reports Judge M. Jane Brady will be reassigned to the Sussex County Superior Court to help the court handle the increasing case load.  That will increase the number of judges in Sussex County from three to four and decrease the number of judges in New Castle County from 15 to 14.

In 2013, Sussex County had 2,500 cases that year while New Castle County had 4,411 cases with five times the number judges.  Kent County had 1,760 cases with three judges.

Brady lives in Lewes, but will still handle some Wilmington cases as she makes the transition to Georgetown.
