A Milford man is in jail after he assaulted a woman driving a car she was driving and then strangled her when she tried to escape.
A Milford man has been arrested after a July 6th domestic violence incident that happened while the victim was driving.
Milford Police say 32-year-old Daniel Eckstorm was the passenger of a car being driven by the victim on Route 1 near Royal Farms and Grotto Pizza. Police say Eckstorm pulled her hair, hit her in the face several times and pushed her up against the driver’s side window while she was driving.
The woman was able to stop the car and flee, but Eckstorm caught her, grabbed her neck and began to strangle her. The woman was able to escape again and call police. Eckstorm was able to flee before police got to the scene.
The victim had minor injuries to her face, neck and chest area.
Eckstorm was arrested August 1st and was also wanted out of several courts. He also had a marijuana pipe on him when he was arrested. He was charged with strangulation, third-degree assault, local fugitive and possession of drug paraphernalia.
