Former Miss Delaware Amanda Longacre is suing the Miss Delaware and Miss America organizations after being dethroned because of her age.

The News Journal reports the lawsuit is seeking $3 million in damage, with $2.5 million for contents who were certified to compete and then disqualified and $500,000 for Longacre.  She also wants her titles restored and to be allowed to compete for Miss America.

Longacre has been allowed to keep the scholarship tied to the Miss Delaware title.  She is seeking damages for having to suspend her studies at the University of Pennsylvania and end her part-time job and internship because of Miss Delaware requirements.  She is also seeking damages for lost potential revenue.
