Delaware State Police are investigating a serious wreck that forced U.S. 13 to close for several hours near Seaford last night.

Police say a motorcycle operated by 67-year-old John Hodgson hit the rear end of a Ford F-150 operated by 66-year-old Charles Lofland while both were traveling southbound on U.S. 13.  Lofland stopped his truck in the grass median while Hodgson was ejected from the motorcycle as it fell to its side and both the motorcycle and Hodgson stopped in the median.

Hodgson was not wearing a helmet and was initially transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, but was later flown to Christiana Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition.

Lofland and his three adult passengers were properly restrained and were uninjured.

U.S. 13 was closed for three hours while police investigated and cleared the wreck.  Delaware State Police are asking anyone with information about the wreck to contact Master Corporal J. Burns at 302-644-5020 x112 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
