Georgetown Man Hits Jackpot in CASH 5 Drawing

Nov 28, 2013 -- 7:51am

A Georgetown man will be able to enjoy a little extra money this holiday weekend.

54-year-old George Bickford won $58,000 in the Delaware Lottery's CASH 5 drawing on Tuesday. Bickford had purchased what turned out to be the winning ticket at the Bodie's Market on South Bedford Street in Georgetown earlier in the day, and claimed his prize on Wednesday. He used the Lottery's Quick Pick option, and drew the winning numbers of 6, 23, 27, 30, 32 and 6.

Bickford told Lottery officials that this was the best early holiday present he could imagine. He says he plans to use a portion of his winnings to plan a trip to Jamaica in February. While he's already claimed one prize, Bickford says he's going to continue playing Delaware Lottery games, and he wants to win the Mega Millions prize next.
