Governor Jack Markell highlighted volunteerism in his weekly address.
The Governor’s message was taped at the Boys and Girls Club in Laurel, where he and First Lady Carla Markell kicked off this year’s Governor’s Week of Service. The Markells and Cabinet members will be working on painting walls, installing storage units, and doing some small repairs.
The Markells started the week of service when Governor Markell was inaugurated for the first time four years ago. They wanted to lead volunteer efforts to show that everyone can make a difference in the lives of others where they live.
