Oct 29, 2013 -- 12:39pm

The Sussex County Council has again deferred a vote on the proposed barking dog ordinance.  In discussion with the the Kent County SPCA which originally said they could absorb the cost - they are now negotiating a new contract for dog control duties for next year and have said that handling barking dogs may actually add cost to the contract.  Until the new contract is drawn up - and extra costs known, the council will wait to vote on the barking dog ordinance.
