Delaware Electric Cooperative Issues "Beat The Peak" Advisory For 3 to 6 P.M.

Oct 05, 2013 -- 2:49pm

Another day of warm, humid weather has led to another "Beat the Peak" advisory from the Delaware Electric Cooperative.

With temperatures getting well up into the 80s as well as unseasonably humid conditions, the Cooperative is asking members to conserve energy between 3 and 6 p.m. this afternoon and evening, when demand for electricity will be at its highest. Members are being asked to "Beat the Peak" by turning off unnecessary lights, turning their thermostats up by a few degrees, and delay the use of major appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers until later tonight.
