Bicyclists will be riding through the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland in one of the region’s best-known cycling events.
The 25th annual Sea Gull Century is getting underway at Salisbury University. Riders will be traveling 100-mile routes through Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset Counties. They’ll ride as far east as Assateague Island, and as far south as Princess Anne and Snow Hill. Rest stops will be set up along the routes, but their hours will vary, with some opening as early as 8 a.m. and staying open as late as 5 p.m. Bicycle mechanics will be at each rest stop to help cyclists who are having problems with their bikes. Services for cyclists will be available until 6 p.m. tonight.
