Wicomico County Hosting Hazardous Waste Material Collection Day For Residents Today

Residents in Wicomico County will be able to get rid of their household hazardous waste materials today.

The county will be hosting a household hazardous waste collection day at the Newland Park Landfill on Brick Kiln Road in Salisbury from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. A wide variety of materials will be accepted for disposal, ranging from paint and painting products to fuels, acids, automotive fluids, smoke detectors, pool chemicals and more. Business, industrial and commercial farm waste, explosives, ammunition, medical waste and radioactive materials WON’T be accepted. Contact the Fire Marshal’s Office to find out how to properly dispose of ammunition.

Anyone who wants to drop off materials for disposal will have to show a proof of residency in Wicomico County, such as a driver’s license.
