Delaware State University’s hiring process has gone through an audit.
The audit focused specifically on the university’s background check procedures, and also reviewed the financial transactions of the College of Education, Health and Public Policy. The audit covered Fiscal Year 2013, and the results were revealed during the Board of Trustees’ meeting on Thursday.
The audit found that the university didn’t stray from its standard human resources practices or procedures for all employees that were hired between July 1, 2012 and July 10 of this year. Del State has implemented a new background check policy that requires national criminal background checks for all new hires. Audits are done every time there’s a dean departure in a specific college of the university.
