Hundreds of cyclists will be hitting the roads and trails starting today to help Delawareans with multiple sclerosis.
The MS Bike to the Bay will begin today, with more than 1,800 cyclists participating. Riders will be taking six different routes, ranging from 17 to 175 miles. The 17-mile ride will begin in Milton. The 45-mile ride will start at Lake Forest High School in Felton, with the 75, 100 and 150-mile rides at Del Tech in Dover. The cyclists will be raising money for the Delaware chapter of the MS Society. Volunteers from the MS Society will be manning rest stops every eight to 12 miles to provide the riders with healthy beverages, fruits and snacks. Professional mechanics will also be available to help with bicycle problems.
The routes will end at the watch towers in Delaware Seashore State Park, just south of Dewey Beach.
