Senator Tom Carper will be attending a pair of festivals in Wilmington this weekend.
This afternoon, Senator Carper will visit India Fest 2013 in Father Tucker Memorial Park. The festival highlights Indian food and culture, and will feature ethnic clothing, crafts, jewelry and music. On Sunday morning, Senator Carper will attend a prayer service as part of the 200th August Quarterly, the nation’s oldest continuously celebrated African-American festival. The prayer service will begin at 9 o’clock at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. The festival, which celebrates African-American heritage, will be held at Tubman-Garrett Park.
