Extreme heat and weak concert attendance are being blamed for a drop in Delaware State Fair attendance in Harrington this year.
Fair Assistant General Manager Danny Aguilar says attendance was down by about 10-percent; Aguilar says an estimated 228,000 people came through the gates for the 10-day event.
Aguilar says Fair officials are finding a direct correlation between the strength of entertainment lineups to attendance. He says they’re already looking for up-and-coming artists to book for the 2014 Fair. Four days of oppressive heat during the Fair’s opening weekend also held people back from attending.
