Cal Ripkin Jr Hold Presser to Discuss Mother's Abduction Last Year

Aug 01, 2013 -- 8:27am

The Baltimore Sun is reporting today that Baseball legend Cal Ripkin Jr. will hold a press conference at 10 o’clock this morning to again call for the public's help in solving the bizarre abduction of his mother last summer.

It has been just over a year since 75-year-old Vi Ripkin was taken from her Aberdeen home at gunpoint by a still unidentified middle-aged man and driven around in her own Lincoln Town Car for hours through Central Maryland, before being returned to her neighborhood. The Sun says the man, who police continue to search for, was somehow able to leave the Lincoln with Vi Ripken in it less than a mile from Ripken's home and flee the neighborhood even as police were patrolling the neighborhood.

Aberdeen Police, the FBI and John Walsh, the former host of “America’s Most Wanted,” will join Ripkin at the presser.
