Governor Markell, who serves as Chair of the National Governors Association, will lead its Annual Summer Meeting starting today in Wisconsin.
Gov. Markel will release the blueprint for his Chair’s Initiative, A Better Bottom Line: Employing People with Disabilities, which focuses on the employment challenges that affect individuals with intellectual and other significant disabilities.
During the four-day meeting, Governors from across the country come together to discuss a variety of issues facing states. NGA promotes state leadership, shares best practices among governors and speaks with a collective voice on national policy.
Topics at the weekend long meeting include the economy, healthcare, infrastructure, homeland security and corrections, among others.
